Make Something

MakersBuilders 3D Printing and Modelling workshops aim at simplifying overwhelming possibilities by answering the where, what and how of 3D Printing.

3D Printing and Modelling (Ages 9+)

Course Overview

The popularity and awareness of 3D Printing is exploding. It is breaking down barriers in design and manufacturing, and making what was previously impossible, possible for anyone with just a basic understanding of the technology.

This class aims at igniting the ‘maker’ spirit in students through a hands-on learning of 3D design and printing. Students get an understanding of technologies, processes and materials that make 3D printing possible. Participants will use 3D software design tools and experiement by designing their own models or modifying exisiting models. Every student gets to print their own design !

The 3D Printing workshop adopts the following agenda:

 3D Printing

The introductory topic aims at introducing the concept of 3D printing focusing on the concept, history and influence on traditional processes.

3D Models and 3D Modelling

The second topic aims at introducing 3D models and the concept of 3D modelling focusing on the processes involved and objectives of the procedure.

3D Printing Process

The third topic aims at introducing the 3D printing process in greater detail focusing on the process, complications and prerequisites.
